प्रदीप सौरभ ब्रिटिश संसद में 'अंतर्राष्ट्रीय इंदू शर्मा सम्मान' से नवाजे जाएंगे
कथा (यू.के.) के महासचिव एवं प्रतिष्ठित कथाकार तेजेन्द्र शर्मा ने लंदन से सूचित किया है कि वर्ष 2012 के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय इंदु शर्मा कथा सम्मान वरिष्ठ पत्रकार व कथाकार प्रदीप सौरभ को उनके (वाणी प्रकाशन से 2011 में प्रकाशित) उपन्यास 'तीसरी ताली' पर देने का निर्णय लिया गया है। हिजड़ों एवं समलैंगिकों के जीवन पर आधारित यह उपन्यास अपने आप में अनूठा है। यह सम्मान प्रदीप सौरभ को लंदन के हाउस ऑफ कॉमन्स में 28 जून 2012 की शाम को एक भव्य आयोजन में प्रदान किया जायेगा। अब तक यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान चित्रा मुद्गल, संजीव, ज्ञान चतुर्वेदी, विभूति नारायण राय, असग़र वजाहत, महुआ माजी, नासिरा शर्मा, हृषिकेश सुलभ आदि को प्रदान किया जा चुका है।
1 जुलाई 1960 को कानपुर में जन्मे प्रदीप सौरभ ने इलाहबाद विश्वविद्याल से हिन्दी साहित्य में एम.ए. की डिग्री हासिल की। जनआंदोलनों में हिस्सा लिया। कई बार जेल गए। वे साप्ताहिक हिन्दुस्तान के संपादन विभाग से लम्बे अर्से तक जुड़े रहे। आजकल वे दी सी एक्सप्रेस दैनिक समाचार पत्र के राजनीति-संपादक के रूप में कार्यरत हैं। सम्मानित उपन्यास के अतिरिक्त उनके दो अन्य उपन्यास 'मुन्नी मोबाइल' एवं 'देश भीतर देश' प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। भारतेन्दु कृत अंधेर नगरी, सर्वेश्वर का रचना संसार एवं कविता संग्रह दरख़्त के दर्द उनकी अन्य प्रकाशित कृतियों में शामिल हैं। गुजरात दंगों की रिपोर्टिंग के लिए पुरस्कृत हुए। निजी जीवन में खरी-खोटी हर खूबियों से लैस। खड़क, खुर्राट और खरे। मौन में तर्कों का पहाड़ लिये इस शख्स ने कब, कहां और कितना जिया, इसका हिसाब-किताब कभी नहीं रखा। बंधी-बंधाई लीक पर कभी नहीं चले।इस सम्मान के अन्तर्गत दिल्ली-लंदन-दिल्ली का आने-जाने का हवाई यात्रा का टिकट, एअरपोर्ट टैक्स़, इंगलैंड के लिए वीसा शुल्क़, एक शील्ड, शॉल तथा लंदन के ख़ास-ख़ास दर्शनीय स्थलों का भ्रमण आदि शामिल होंगे। इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान भारत एवं विदेशों में रचे जा रहे हिन्दी साहित्य के बीच के रिश्तों पर गंभीर चर्चा होगी।

18th Katha (U.K.) awards 2012 at The House of Commons, London
The General Secretary of Katha (U.K.) and noted writer Tejendra Sharma has informed that for the year 2012 International Indu Sharma Katha Samman would be conferred upon noted journalist and writer Mr. Pradeep Saurabh for his novel Teesri Tali (published by Vani Prakashan, New Delhi). This is a unique novel as it deals in depth with the life of eunuchs. The award consists of an air passage Delhi-London-Delhi, Airport Tax, Visa fee for UK, a shield, a shawl and the award winner would be taken to important historical sites in and around London. The award will be handed over to Mr. Pradeep Saurabh in a glittering function to be held on 28 June 2012 at the House of Commons in London.
International Indu Sharma Katha Samman was instituted in the memory of promising poetess and short story writer Indu Sharma who lost her battle of life to cancer in 1995. The past recipients of this coveted award have been Chitra Mudgal, Sanjiv, Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi, S.R. Harnot, Vibhuti Narain Rai, Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Dr. Asghar Wajahat, Mahua Maji, Nasera Sharma, Bhagwan Das Morwal, Hrishikesh Sulabh and Vikas Kumar Jha.
An M.A. in Hindi from Allahabad University, Pradeep Saurabh was born on 1st July 1960 in Kanpur. He is working as the Political editor of a daily newspaper The Sea Express. He has had a long experience in the famous weekly Saptahik Hindustan as Assistant Editor. Besides the award winning novel Mr. Saurabh has to his credit Munni Mobile and Desh Bheetar Desh (both novels); Drakhat ke Dard (Poetry); Bhartendu Krut Andher Nagari and Sarveshwar ka Rachna Sansar. He was honoured for his reporting of the Gujarat riots. He has never followed the set paths of live and has carved his own ways for himself.
